    Indonesia’s Obsession With Seaweed Produce 10 Million Tons In 2014


    Obsession with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (NOA) to states producing the largest marine and fishery products in the world in 2015 continue to be encouraged with seaweed as one of the leading commodity.

    Until 2008, a total of 15% seaweed exported in processed form by Indonesia. The rest is exported in the form of logs. CTF prepared three policy options concerning the development of seaweed processing. First, log seaweed exporters must be registered and must have a processing plant in the country. Second, the government is restricting log exports seaweed. Third, give authority to the cooperatives to export seaweed.
